Highland Associates developed designs for the renovation of the 147,000 square foot Junior/Senior High School.
The District along with the design team, developed a priority list of repairs and renovations that were evaluated
to keep the project within budget. Recommendations were implemented into the final scope of the project. The
building remained operational during construction. Construction phasing plans were developed concurrently with
the design to shorten the construction schedule, there-by saving the District money.
The completed facility isolates the majority of the middle school functions from the high school functions.
Shared areas are provided for technology, computer, library, home living, health and athletic facilities, auditorium
and cafeteria uses.
The renovated facility houses approximately 900 students in grades 7 through 12. The total project cost was $2 million
under budget. The building was occupied in December of 2001.
