
Highland Associates provided various architecture and engineering services to the New York School Construction
Authority as part of a two year On-Call Contract for projects in Brooklyn, NY.
P.S. 91K is a freestanding L-shaped building consisting of two sections; a rectangular classroom building which was
constructed in 1903 and a rectangular classroom addition constructed in 1925. The original building is four stories
high and the addition is three stories high with a basement, cellar and a play yard. The total floor area of the
building is 96,400 square feet.
The scope of work is as follows:
• Heating Plant / Boiler Conversion
• Remove and Upgrade Climate Control Systems
• Installation of an Intrusion Alarm
• Removal and Replacement of all Roofs
• Removal and Replacement of all Windows
• Repair of Masonry and Limestone Parapets
• Repair of Exterior Brick Masonry walls
• Interior Plaster Repairs and Painting
• Replace Chalkboards and Display Boards
• Replace and Upgrade Lighting Fixtures
• Low Voltage Electric Systems Upgraded: Interior
• Telephone & Sound System; Clock System; Fire Alarm
• System; Television System;Telephone System; and City
• Fire Alarm & Police Call System
