Highland Associates provided Engineering services for the Emergency Department and Physical Therapy Expansion/Renovation.
Emergency Department includes a new ambulance entrance, Trauma Room, Acute and Sub-Acute Patient Areas, Nurse's Stations, Waiting, Triage, Registration and Related Support Areas.
The new addition had to match the very shallow existing hospital floor-to-floor heights, because the existing hospital did not have Air Conditioning. The new addition had to have all ductwork, piping and conduit layered and pass through the steel structure, this required extensive coordination between trades as well working with the steel fabricator to pre-cut openings in the steel.
The overall cost of construction was approximately $5 million dollars.
Currently in design is approximately an 8,000 s.f. OB Unit.
