Highland Associates carefully designed this entire unit to provide premium patient care and a sensitivity to
alleviating the stress and anxiety often associated with healthcare service. Throughout the space the functional
program and the emotional needs of the patients and their families are mutually satisfied.
The Suites contains three beautifully appointed labor / birthing rooms, and nine private postpartum rooms.
These spaces are specifically family centered and staff friendly. Custom millwork in rich wood tones conceal and
disguise the intimidating clinical equipment and medical gases which not only provides a stately "guest room"
feel, but reduces the potential stress for new and expectant families without compromising the needs of the medical
staff. Even the finishes in the adjacent Operating Room are soft and feminine realizing that moms are often awake
and cognizant of their surroundings in these trying moments.
The program is "family centered" and every element of the space contributes to creating the supportive
environment which values family involvement as a primary positive support for mom. Amenities that serve this purpose
include a comfortable family waiting area, and fully stocked "Nutrition" spaces which offer families an option for
meals and snacks without total reliance on the hospital's food service or it's schedule. The unit also offers a
private hydrotherapy room in which birthing coaches are encouraged to actively participate in this specialized labor
management technique.
