Highland Associates was commissioned by the Bloomingdale's Division of Federated to renovate an existing 2 story High
End anchor store at the Bridgewater Mall. The existing red split face block "post modern façade" received a
facelift that brought it up to Bloomingdale's high standards.
Highland responded by removing the heavy granite columns that supported the buildings frieze and replaced them with
architectural "fins". The existing storefront, metal and glass canopy and building shell were painted in
Bloomingdale's signature minimalist "black and white" palate.
Working closely with Bloomingdale's store designers and planners Highland performed full architectural and engineering
services for the store that included a 2 story escalator well with skylight, 2 new mall entrances and 160,00 square feet
of contemporary selling space.
