Highland Associates was commissioned to design a new showroom space for Xerox. Highland Associates provided full
architectural and engineering services for this project which began with selection of the site. This included all design
and construction administration services and was completed with move coordination and project close out. The space
selected, which consisted of 100,000 square feet of space on three floor and 20,000 on the ground level at 245 Park
Avenue was delivered to Xerox by the landlord as raw shell and core space. The 20,000 square floor "Virtual"
showroom is located on the lobby level of the building.
The high visibility space provides large continuous exterior window facing Park Avenue and 47th Street. This space will
be used for Xerox public information, education and product display. Produce demonstrations and customer training will
also be managed in this space. The focal point of the showroom features a sixteen foot high, curved, rear lighted,
glass wall that encloses a specialized teleconferencing and customer meeting room. The wall is back lighted by over
300 light fixtures. The wall utilizes graphics and text to communicate ideas about the "Document" and Xerox's
history of accomplishments in support of the "Document". The product demonstration areas were designed to
provide a showroom with great flexibility in the display areas. This design allows Xerox to constantly introduce new
concepts, products and interconnectivity for the solutions to the myriad of office configurations and equipment.
